It may sound like a cliché BUT after me & Joshie went through a hijacking earlier this week - THIS weekend was just what the doctor ordered! 😅

Quality time with the #fam - a 40th bday celebrations with delicious mexican food @picasso_mexican_taqueria - good coffee ☕️ early morning tennis games (swipe to the end to watch Joshie in action) 🎾 I went for a run, finished stationery shopping for the kids @pna_colouryourworld - worked on my new year planning for my #mommyandme classes @pienkvoetpretnels + a new business venture COMING SOON 🔜 I watched “Fool me Once” on #netflix, I took a #nap AND I put on a pretty pink dress! 💗

Nothing EXTRAORDINARY but amazing once you realize how quickly life can change 🤍

Thank you once again for all the LOVE - I’m absolutely overwhelmed 💗

Today could have ended terribly… Me & Joshie go

Today could have ended terribly…

Me & Joshie got in the car to drop off our houseworker, Mamsie, in town around 16:15.

There’s a garage in town, with literally hundreds of people walking by, catching busses ect - I usually stop close by the petrolstation - hazards on - Mamsie gets out - and we’re off into the busy street once again.

Today went a little different - so Joshie was in in the back in his carseat, I pulled over, car still running and unlocked my car so Mamsie could get out from the passenger seat -

It all happened so fast…

One minute I was unlocking the doors, I was looking at Joshie screaming “high five Mamsie, high five!” When suddenly my door was jerked open and this guy was literally in my car in my face -

Screaming “listen to me listen to me!!!!!”

In that split second I turned to my left and where Mamsie just got out there was someone else getting in - I started screaming..

No no no Noooooo! Leave us alone!!!

The guy grabbed my backpack, that was lying on my lap - I tried to grab it back and pulled with all my might - all the while Joshie is screaming hysterically in the back and his door is also opened by a 3rd person.

I got the bag back, I tried to get away, but the car went dead - putting the car in neutral to get away made the car move and in that split second I started the car and with 3 open doors swung out into the busy road!

Here’s the best part: For once there was no oncoming cars, we got home safe - unharmed & not even my bag was stolen.

Minki was home & when we all calmed down and I told her our story she said: “But Mommy how could you grab your bag from that guy, you are not that strong?!”

And before I could even answer, she said, “Wait I know - it was the Holy Spirit! He helped you.”

Indeed he did.

Joshie added: “Ja Liewe Jesus het gehelp MAAR Mamma het VERSKRIKLIK hard geskreeu!”

So grateful tonight, cause you know you always think that this won’t happen to me.

Well it did.

It was a horrible experience but…

we’re 💯 fine.

Thanks to Jesus (and my loud voice) 😉

Suffering from IMPOSTER SYNDROME big time 😢

Sometimes I’m like there’s NO way I’ve got 23 000 + people following me?????

BUT then I get to meet 3 beautiful followers in 2 days (1 next to the swimming pool, one @sugarrushkzn & 1 in ZARA (obviously) 🤣🤣 and I’m like:

“Wow, I actually have REAL people who ❤️ what I write & post!”

23 000 + amazing PEOPLE (probably a few bots inbetween) 🤖 BUT I’ve never ever paid for one single follower & that basically means I build a fun- fashion loving -cool -relatable Mom community ! 💪

ALL BY MYSELF!!!

These 3 women made me realize that I’m NOT an imposter:

I deserve to be here.

I deserve to get the campaigns.

I deserve to be called an influencer
(in a positive non derogatory way).

I deserve to NOT feel like an imposter in my own life - albeit on social media.

So, this year it’s #byebyebye to the

I AM NOT GOOD ENOUGH thoughts!

& HELLO to all of the good stuff:

lovely followers, kind comments, cool campaigns & exciting new ventures coming my way 😍
