At least there’s one thing that (almost) always makes me feel better: Fashion!
Again, lets be honest, my beauty routine has taken a huge dip the past few weeks. Just washing my hair feels like an accomplishment (I’m so damn tired), so dry shampoo and a top knot is my go to look these days…
Make up wise I’m going for the natural look (not by choice), again putting on make-up seems like such a drag. So I literally wear foundation, a bit of blusher and waterproof mascara (because if you vomit 6+ times a day, normal mascara will smudge and make you look even worse than you feel).
But before I drag you into my gloomy state of mind here’s some of my favourite outfits from the 1st trimester.
Style Tip 1: Do Not Emphasize Your Bump
I know you want to shout it from the rooftops and show of your bump, but lets be honest – right about now you just look like a put on a lot of weight.
Avoid tight fitting clothes and look out for dresses and tops that glides over your bump.
I’m wearing a loose fitting dress from Contempo Shop.
Style Tip 2: Buy Regular Clothes!
Please don’t blow your hard earned cash on maternity wear! Buy regular clothes, just one or two sizes bigger!
And is it just me, or is maternity wear ugly?
Keep in mind the style when shopping: A line dresses are great, bohemian dresses, pants with a stretchy waistband and shorts with a stretchy waistband…
You get the idea?
+ Add a skinny belt for an instant waist!
I’m wearing floral- and lace dress from Woolworths.
Style Tip 3: Invest In Maternity Jeans
This time round my jeans started gaping open at 6 weeks!
I invested in a pair of maternity jeans from H&M and I plan to wear them until July (and probably after baby’s arrival as well).
Endless style options and of course… comfort!

Minki is her usual stylish self in her F.R.I.E.N.D.S T-shirt and tutu #cutiepie
F.R.I.E.N.D.S t-shirt available at Cotton On Kids.
And there you have it… My favourite looks for my 1st trimester!
Which one is your favourite?
