Now I get to build a little lady’s future. Scary, I know!
Here we are building the Mega Bloks First Builders Treehouse Playdate Set and you can WIN it courtesy from Mattel South Africa.
Why kiddo needs to start building right now:
• It develops fine-motor skills
Mega Bloks = Mini Hands. These mega bloks is perfect for first builders. It’s bulky, which makes it easy to grab on and connect to other blocks. The act of grasping the blocks itself serves as good practice for gripping objects, and strengthens the fingers and hands of kiddo.
Duh! This one is kinda obvious but just look at all the different colours? It’s not just pretty but educational.
Get down on your bum and build with kiddo. Enhance his learning experience by asking relevant questions: “Where are the yellow blocks?”
Meet Hansie and Grietjie. The Mega Block Treehouse Playdate Set comes with the cutest little lads. Minki immediately named them Hansie and Grietjie. Now she was not just building blocks, but a swing for Hansie and Grietjie’s playdate.
Minki is not the most patient toddler in the world. Struggling to build a structure with small blocks will literally drive her (and me) insane. Because of the size of the blocks (mega)! It’s easy to manoeuvre. No help or extra patience needed. Yay!
You know, just one of the most important skills your toddler needs to learn in terms of safety.
This may well be your little angel’s first teamwork project. By playing together kiddo learns to share, communicate and cooperate with others (skills he will definitely need as a grownup in pretty much any work environment).
Why don’t you try it? And lets fall in love with building blocks all over again…

I want my little guy to work on his creativity and imagination. Also he is such a busy guy so to just sit for a little while and have some quiet time.
Hi Laylaa,
Oh my word! I can relate with the “busy” part. Minki can’t seem to sit on her bum for 5 minutes, so building these blocks was definitely to longest time she was actually sitting down. Thank you for sharing on Facebook and good luck!

Blocks are the most valuable toy one can invest in 🙂 … Besides the obviously great reasons like fine motor skills, color recognition etc, I love the fact that it draws out social interaction as well….my little girl has autism; verbal language, imaginative play as well as social cues do not come naturally for her. She has recently even started initiating play with the trainset and pushing the farmer on the truck…huge steps! So I encourage block play on a daily basis and the added bonus is our precious time together…..this giveaway is a great opportunity to possibly expand our starter collection! thank you 🙂 I shared on Facebook xx
Hi Sonja (again) 🙂
I’m so glad that your little girl has started initiating play. I think she would love the MegaBloks and of course time together is always so special. Thank you so much for entering and give your little girl a big hug from me.

I want my kiddo (she is 2 in September) to build blocks because its good for her creativity and perceptual skills. I also love the quality time factor that I get to spend with her building – time is so rare with being a full time working and its important the time I spend with her is fulfilled with moments that she will remember. I have shared on twitter @pegglet2004
Aaa the “terrible” two’s! 🙂 How do you find the 2 year old phase Lisa? Minki is also two and it has been full of ups and downs…
But I love the quality time part. It’s sooo important in we are so busy that sometimes we just miss out on these special moments.
Thank you for sharing and good luck!

I would really love my 15 months old son to win this as this might be the right platform for him to learn about colour coordination as most boys suffer alot from.. This will help him learn to build and construct in that way he’ll be able to know his skills and talents.. He’ll learn to work independently and love building. I don’t want him to be exposed to wrong things but to grow knowing that building and working is the number one goal.. I want to raise him well as I’m a first time mother i hope i wont fail him.
#Going to share on facebook
Hi Dimpho,
Aaaw your message is so sweet. And just the fact that you worry about failing him means you’re already a wonderful mother. Don’t worry I’m also a first time mom and I’m learning through ALL my mistakes. But we are in this together! 🙂 Thank you for entering and remember to share on FAcebook so that you have a valid entry!
Have a lovely day Mama!

Hello 🙂 I would love my son to play with the megabloks instead of emptying out the bum creams in the house, rubbing all my very expensive face creams on his hair, climbing into the lounge table and throwing sealed jars of raw honey off the table (I sell honey), and pushing his chair up against everything to accomplish his mission of showing me that ANYTHING is possible, even for a 1 and a half year old. He doesn’t want toy cars, teddies, balls or typical toddler toys…. I haven’t exposed him to blocks yet but that just may be my solution to being able to keep him distracted long enough for me to cook a decent meal, while keeping a close eye on him 🙂
Hi there! Oh my word your post made me laugh out loud right now! 🙂 ha ha ha! I know the feeling of expensive makeup (read Estee Lauder lipstick) being used to beautify our house by my 2 year old.. Yes they truly believe they can do anything and they will show you. Sounds like the terrible two’s came early for you? Maybe the blocks will help…? Ha ha..
Thanks for entering and making me laugh.
Have a fabulous day Mama!
